Two kitchens of the same wall length can land at very different investment levels depending on carcass material, shutter finish, hardware tier, internal accessories, and countertop choice.

When a homeowner asks "how much does a 10-foot modular kitchen cost", the honest answer is: it depends on what you put inside it. A 10-foot kitchen with BWP carcass, acrylic shutters, premium imported hardware, and a full accessory list lands at a very different parameter band than a 10-foot kitchen with commercial ply carcass, laminate shutters, and basic hardware.
The eight cost drivers that actually move the number
- Carcass material. BWP plywood is the long-term choice in humid Indian conditions. HDHMR is a solid mid-tier. Commercial ply and MDF cost less but age faster near sinks.
- Shutter finish. Laminate, membrane, PU, acrylic, veneer, glass — each tier has its own price band.
- Hardware tier. Hinges, channels, lift-ups, soft-close fittings. Premium imported hardware lasts 10+ years.
- Internal accessories. Tandem drawers, magic corners, tall units, cutlery trays, pull-out larders — often 15–25% of total cost.
- Countertop. Engineered quartz costs more than granite but needs no sealing.
- Tall and pantry units. Recover wall height usually wasted above standard wall units.
- Lighting and electricals. Under-cabinet LED, profile lighting, additional points.
- Installation and coordination. Site visit, measurement, install team, snag closure.

- Carcass brand or grade (e.g. BWP 710-grade plywood), thickness, edge banding
- Shutter finish type, brand, and edge profile
- Hardware brand of hinges, channels, lift-ups, and tier
- Every accessory with quantity and brand
- Countertop material, thickness, edge profile, supplier
- Lighting, electrical points, switch positions
- Written warranty terms — what is covered, for how long, what voids it
- Installation, transport, snag closure, named project manager
